"Destini" employs the use of tape loops to create a sonic landscape that captures the disintegration of sound over time.
"Destini" is a poignant reminder of the fragility of sound and its inevitable decay, yet it is also a celebration of the haunting beauty that can emerge from this process, with its hypnotic repetitions and shifting tonalities.

L’incedere ipnotico di un nastro il cui suono gradualmente si disfa consegnandone la fragile bellezza al ricordo. È immediato accostare l’ultima produzione breve di Andrea Porcu/Music For Sleep con il capolavoro basinskiano, opere innervate su principi comuni declinati in forme a tratti diametralmente opposte. Dove The Disintegration Loops ricerca l’emozione nell’incedere solenne, potenzialmente infinito, Destini definisce una traiettoria circoscritta il cui decadimento giunge parziale senza mai compiersi oltre una data misura. Le stille pianistiche permangono nitide, il nucleo melodico evidente, parzialmente intaccato, mai soffocato dalla polvere, dalle interferenze generate dalla rovina inevitabile.
È la grazia a permanere, ad imprimersi con immediatezza in profondità, essenza di un torrente ambientale placido che accoglie e riverbera la lezione seminale del verbo enoiano.

Music For Sleep è il moniker dietro al quale si cela il compositore e musicista Andrea Porcu, il quale ha recentemente dato alle stampe un EP nuovo di zecca intitolato Destini, opera che propone atmosfere rarefatte ubicate fra Brian Eno e i Pink Floyd più ambient ascoltati in “The Endless River”.

I 4 brani strumentali veleggiano verso orizzonti spaziosi e poco battuti, con un pianoforte placido e riverberato che galleggia fra mari sonici in movimento continuo: come dichiarato dall'autore stesso lo scopo è celebrare il suono, la sua fragilità, la sua destrutturazione, la bellezza che nasce da questa sorta di infinito processo.

have yet to translate the song titles so the artist's intentions are somewhat of a mystery to me, but the wavering surface noise creates the theme of a dialogue between music & technology before becoming invisible to my ears. this conjures memories of listening to music as a child (long before the sterility of digital media), when i rarely took notice of the hiss & pops of records, 8-tracks, tapes, & am radio because they were a normal, necessary aspect of recorded sound. nice to be back again.
