Favorite track: B2. Invitation To Love.
This is the story (as I want to remember it) of an elderly couple, E. and M., who had spent most of their lives in the hustle and bustle of the city. They had always longed for a change, a peaceful place where they could enjoy the beauty of nature and the soothing sounds of the sea. So, one day, they made the decision to move to a small house near the beach in Mandriola (Sardinia Island).
As soon as they settled into their new home, E. and M. placed a small table with a few chairs just outside, just a few meters from the sea. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and spend sweet moments together. Sitting there, they could watch the waves crashing on the shore, seagulls soaring in the air, and the sunset painting the sky with golden hues.
Thanks to their inviting table, many people passing by would stop for a moment to chat with E. and M. The elderly couple was happy to share their life stories, love, and wisdom with anyone who approached. Every time someone sat at the table with them, a special bond was formed, a snapshot of human connection that made that place even more magical.
Time passed, and E. and M. grew old together. Despite the signs of aging on their faces and the passing of years, their love remained as strong as the day they got married. Every day, they would sit at the table, hand in hand, watching the sea that had accompanied their lives.
Unfortunately, one day the sad inevitability struck the couple: M. fell seriously ill and eventually passed away, leaving E. with a broken heart. E. continued to visit the table, sitting on the empty chairs that were once occupied by their beloved. They would gaze at the horizon, seeking solace in the beauty of the sea, hoping to feel M.'s presence once again.
Years went by, and E. began to feel the absence of M. more and more acutely. One day, while sitting at the table, a sense of peace enveloped them. There, in that place they had shared with M. for so many years, E. joined their beloved, leaving this world for eternity.
Today, the table and chairs still stand, intact despite the passage of time and the bad weather. People passing by wonder how long they have been there, and some can still sense the presence of a love that transcends life itself. That table becomes a symbol of a romantic and infinite love story, like the sea that surrounds it, a tangible testament to a love story.
have yet to translate the song titles so the artist's intentions are somewhat of a mystery to me, but the wavering surface noise creates the theme of a dialogue between music & technology before becoming invisible to my ears. this conjures memories of listening to music as a child (long before the sterility of digital media), when i rarely took notice of the hiss & pops of records, 8-tracks, tapes, & am radio because they were a normal, necessary aspect of recorded sound. nice to be back again.
